The understanding of nature and the human figure has articulated two bodies full of beauty and mystery, the skin of the earth and the skin of humans, it is the visible face of an infinite world of emotions and thoughts, a world full of stories.

To get rid of clothes is to get rid of everything that temporarily and culturally places us to return and live without ornaments, our primary home, whether it is strong or weak, young or old.

During the photograph sessions, I have the feeling that I am looking through a window at a place without time, where I do not try to force things, I try to capture those fleeting instants where the model forgets about being naked, that instant where she connects intimately with the environment, that moment where she forgets time and shame, where you can subtly see everything that is not image nor word, the eternal.

BIO – Martin Navarro

Since my childhood, I have felt a great passion for drawing and nature, an attraction that became deeper in 2001 when I started to develop art works through oil painting, a technique that I still practice occasionally.Thanks to the development of this technique I discovered the beauty to behold the gradient of colors, light, perspective, tonal balance and harmony within shapes that give birth to landscapes and human figure.

Naturally, I took a step towards photography in which I found myself caught by the beauty of spontaneity and landscapes, little by little and without a clear intention, photography was embracing more in the creative part of my work. 

From 2010 to 2014, I studied in a Fine Arts academy, I was able to take up oil painting and study color, shape and composition, especially in the series “Imágenes Mentales”. From my opinion, creative work can be completely exciting, whether you are working in photography, design or fine arts, it is an instance where reality and dreams blend together creating awarness of your emotions and feelings in the development of new images. Needless to say, it requires to take these new ideas and generate the right questions that lead to a synthesize answer which will be reproduced on whatever format the artist is using.

LIONS – THE BOOK

When LIONS magazine was founded in 2015 its vision was to create a platform for ambitious photographers and models to showcase their work. From the beginning it was intended not only to be an online platform, but also to print the editorials in a high-quality magazine. 

Through the common habit of only regarding intangible screen images, the sense for contemplating printed and physical pictures has escaped the viewer’s notice. Decreasing attention spans and inflationary confrontation with countless images everyday has also decreased the appreciation and respect for the work of every artist. Due to this and a shrinking number of glamour and nude art photography magazines, many photographers and artists are searching unsuccessfully for publication. 

Over the past years, hundreds of editorials have been published and with “Lions – The Book“ now the most talented photographers and outstanding images were collected into a coffee table book. 

In taking a photography, we freeze a moment that reveals to us how rich reality truly is. At this point I would like to express my personal thanks to all the models, photographers, make-up air, stylists and creatives that joined our journey and shared our vision.

I always shoot with music. Poison was running in the first minutes of our shooting. Think it fits perfect as a title. I’m a photographer by passion and I always try to create that kind of art that I’d personally love to hang on my walls at home. Therefore the most important things I use in my shootings are my eyes, heart, mind and my imagination. Everything else is just technical equipment. It’s the person I love to work with. Not the Model. 

Chiara Bianchino is well known as a Playmate. For me she is so much more than this. She has a beautiful mind and is very down to earth. She loves to travel and it was a pleasure to work with her.

Coffee Table Book »Sublime« by Simon Bolz

After the success of his first coffee table book »Frisky« (2014), Bolz decided to create a new book. He worked on the motives for fours years and none of the images has been published before. Keeping everything secret was quite a challenge as nowadays people are used to seeing content on social media more or less in real time.

An ode to women

Simon Bolz produces pictorials in which he celebrates the beauty and appeal of women. His photographs invite you to dream, take you on a visual journey that gets you into the holiday mood. His pictures are scented with suntanned skin and tell tales of freedom.

On his trips, the 42 year old photographer takes you from Riga to Chuchurumbache. He gives a glimpse into private apartments, goes diving in the Mediterranean Sea, undertakes a roadtrip in a DeLorean, goes on a horse ride and many more adventures – all with beautiful young women.

Whether informal and self-confident or innocent and shy, the 23 girls in »Sublime« present themselves from their most beautiful side. The photographer from Frankfurt succeeds in finding magic moments and capturing those for us.

The artist himself always remains in the background. “I used to think my sensitivity is a weakness. But I have discovered that you need to be sensitive to capture sensual photographs.”

Nudity as a matter of course

Bolz feels that the age of information overload and the ever faster media consumption overstretches ourselves. Slowing down and taking time to browse pictures on paper is a trend that he likes to return. When you begin to look into »Sublime«, the complex and exhausting time we live in fades into the background.

It’s all about aesthetics. Bolz masters to balance entertainment with erotic tension without ever being vulgar. Nudity becomes a matter of course.

The title »Sublime« sums up the 208 pages of the book: breath-taking and jaw-dropping.

About the photographer

Simon Bolz (born 1976) graduated from the Academy of Visual Arts in Frankfurt in 2002. Since 2012 he produces pictorials for magazines such as Playboy, Men’s Health, Matador and various calendar publishers. “Curiosity and good taste are the ingredients of my work”, is the credo of the photographer from Frankfurt.

The Chair

They are everywhere in our daily lives.  We sit on them, they occupy space in our corners, at our tables, and our counters.  We stand on them to change light bulbs or use them tp prop open doors. We spend hours in them during our working hours.  They’re ubiquitous.

But, when you put a beautiful flower on the chair, the chair takes on a special meaning.

I dreamed such a scenario one year ago and I could finally turn it into reality a few months ago after an accurated preparation to leave absolutely nothing to fatality.

I’m a landscape photographer loving Nature in any form, so when I discovered such a primordial beauty place threatened by sea and winds, I had to shoot a woman there with a sculptured body to give the idea of the Nature like forging its own creatures…and protect them at the same time with her rocky arms.

This location is south of Leighorn, Tuscany and not to comfortable for models posing there!

BIO Paolo Lazzarotti

I’m 45 and I’m lucky enough to live in a small village very close to some of the finest italian places like Cinque Terre National Park, Gulf of the Poets, Tuscan countryside and a wild coast line where I took some of my finest and awarded sea shots.

When I moved my very first steps in Photography I was 19 with a compact film camera given by my father.

I learned everything by myself without reading any book or attending at any course and did spend most of my time in understanding my errors and trying not have more in the future. I was aware this was certainly the most time consuming way to improve my own skills, but right now I realized this was the best way to develop my own genuine style.

My favourite subjects were landscapes, sunsets and all the things strictly related to Nature. Well, I can fairly state I love Nature in all its forms even now, expecially when she reveals to me her majestic strenght making me feel a stupid thing against her.

“I am nobody” , after all. I’m a “cat lady”, animalist, nude model, bohemian artist (painter), lover, athlet, fall in love with life.

I’m free as a wind and the only owner of my body.

Modeling means to be free to be myself.

This job allows me to travel my country (Italy)….. and maybe, in future, travel around the world and meet great artists!

Modeling turns myself into a living artwork, and I want my life be an artwork.

Every day i wear long and thiny dresses, sometimes a little boehmiam and sometimes a little gothic, but almost, I love to wear lace corset and heels shoes. I really love “retrò” style.

Happiness for me is the ability of making our dreams as real.

My next targets will be to graduate, selling my paintings (I’m a painter and I studied art for many years), become a pole dance teacher and improve everything, including this wonderful work.

We chatted with local Models for months, it was our first time in Florida, so all is always more complicated.

When we arrived in Miami, we didn’t find any Models.

I saw the Instagram of Quiyona a few hours before the shoot and I contacted her, like “what’s about a nude-art shoot tomorrow”.

She never shot for nude-art, but she saw our work and loved it.

The day after, early morning we were front to our door in Tampa.

We check the place before the night the day before.

We are both Awards Winning Photographers and main shooters. Born in France, we left 7 years about to work from our passion for Photography (we were hobbyists before that). After two years in New-Zealand and our first publications, we arrived in French Polynesia, where we worked for four years as a wedding and boudoir Photographers.

Our logic is to propose both activities all the time. Boudoir is really more and more popular, we propose that as a solo (man and woman) and as a couple… inside (Resorts or customers home) or into the wild.

Quiyona Model more and more. She learns really fast and has a great understanding of Photography, Art and managing. We really hope to work again soon with her.

The drive between Banff and Calgary, Canada is about as picturesque as one could hope. River valleys covered in forests, prairie grasslands rippling softly in the wind, and awe-inspiring mountains reaching up majestically against clear blue skies. What you don’t expect to find is this place. Almost unnoticeable behind a cluster of trees at the side of the highway is the site of an unused gas station. I am careful to say “unused” and not “abandoned” because it seems that there are still those that visit this spot. The windows are all long gone and the floor is littered with rubble and broken glass, but the walls are covered in mesmerizing, intricate graffiti and there is a relatively clear area with a skateboard ramp in the front room. From the first time I noticed it, I wanted to shoot in this contradiction – the despondent rubble painted in day-glo colour, the tiny wasteland in the idyllic foothills of the Rocky Mountains – but it would take an adventurous model to pose in this place.

I got my chance when I met Dominka Jandl, a stunning model from Czech Republic who travels the world as a muse. I had seen pictures of her posed on horseback, in rocky places and up in trees, usually wearing little that might make these locations even slightly comfortable. This was a muse who was willing to go wherever the shot was, and she made every frame a keeper.

It was the hottest day of summer as we set out with my camera bag, a few pieces of wardrobe and a broom. I must say I swept as much as I shot that day, but it was completely worth it as Dominika embraced the dingy conditions and brought the location to life. She brought the elements of glamour and softness to the shoot, which really emphasized the rough, abandoned street vibe of our location. It was one of the most uncomfortable yet immensely gratifying projects I have ever done and I genuinely hope that you will enjoy these images.
